Job description
Canadian Erosion and Containment is currently seeking full time seasonal employees for the 2022 season from central region of Alberta. The positions available are Hydoseed Applicators.
MUST HAVE previous experience
Rate of pay: $23/hr starting can be negotiated based on experience and overtime
Location: Calgary
Applicators will be responsible for applying hydroseed mixtures on public and Private properties and pipelines. All employees must follow and comply with company safe work practices/policies, procedures and safety requirements outlined in the Industry Standards and Good practices for Vegetation Management, Alberta Environment and WCB.
Duties and Responsibilities
Provide superior customer service to customers and other employees.
Operate equipment in a safe and efficient manner (ATV’s, trucks)
Mix and apply hydroseed to designated areas using various spraying equipment.
Detailed record keeping of applied areas will be required
Perform pre operation and application checks to equipment, along with other safety paperwork requirements.
Accountable for maintenance and well being of machinery.
Be physically able to perform tasks as heavy lifting (50lbs) and operating equipment for extended periods of time.
Education/Experience:
Hold a high school diploma. Enrolled in a industry related or post secondary program is an asset
Display courtesy, professional and customer service attitude at all times
Willingness to work long hours and weekends both in and out of town
Ability to keep neat notes of application records
Class 5 operators license minimum , and a clean drivers abstract
Agricultural background is an asset
3 years previous experience

Equipment Operator
Job description
Canadian Erosion and Containment Ltd. is looking for reliable, hard-working, safety-oriented individuals to join our team.
Summary
The equipment operator will work under the supervision of the Site Foreman. The operator will demonstrate the ability to work alone or as part of a team while complying with CEC's and site-specific safety rules. The operator will attend daily toolbox meetings and will be responsible for completing walk-around inspections, daily inspection checklists and FLHA's. The operator will be required to work outside in all weather conditions
Required
Skid steer, Excavator, Loader, Packer, water truck, small dozer, zoom boom
Valid class 5 drivers license
CSTS-09
CSA approved boots, hard hat, safety vest
Must be willing to travel for out of town work. up to 24 days continuous

Construction Foreman
Duties and Responsibilities:
Ensuring that the project is on schedule and budget
Establish and communicate the responsibilities, authorities, and accountability of all site employees and ensure that they clearly understand their role and Tasks for each day and each project.
Have ongoing communication with the Project Manager regarding progress, conditions, and issues with your site.
Ensure quality control testing is completed and accurate each day or each project.
Complete reports, safety documentation, etc. as required by CEC policies and procedures and project requirements.
Ensure all work is completed safely and in accordance with plans, specification, and client direction
Supervise and train workers to ensure a safe and productive job site
Hazard identification and mitigation
Previous Experience:
Minimum 3 years of Foreman / Supervisory experience
Minimum 3 years equipment operation with fine grading experience (small dozer, excavator, skidsteer, telehandler, loader)
Minimum 3 years civil works experience
MSE wall construction experience
Backfilling of structures
Qualifications:
ability to read and understand plans and specifications
Must be willing to travel up to 24 days continuous
Willing and able to work in all weather conditions up to 12 hours per day including weekends
Training and certification (CEC will provide training for the successful candidate if required):
Drivers license class 5 with clean abstract

Leadership for Safety Excellence

Ability to pass Drug and Alcohol test
Assets:
Class 1 or Class 3 Drivers Licence
Gabion Wall Experience
HDPE Pipe fusion experience
Liner and Geosynthetics installation experience
As a successful candidate, you have strong leadership skills, delegation and Site Foreman skills. You are effective in the areas of construction safety and productivity.
Pay Rate:
Compensation to be negotiated based on relevant skills and experience
Performance bonus incentive
Discretionary performance based bonus incentive on a per project basis
General Labourers
- $17.00 to $25.00 per hour (depending on experience) with frequent opportunities for overtime
- Paid Travel Time & Per Diems
- Hotels supplied while on remote job sites
CEC candidates must have the following qualifications:
- 1+ years of previous construction experience.
- Able and willing to travel to remote locations
- Be away for extended periods of time up to 24 days
- Able and willing to adapt to changing schedules
- Have a valid Driver’s License or government issued photo ID
- Have all of the following safety tickets: CSTS 09, H2S, & First Aid
- Able to successfully pass pre-access testing as a site specific requirement
